We decided to fly through Hawaii and enjoyed it A LOT. We stayed for 3 nights (hence the title). We enjoyed Hawaii for a few reasons:
1) Broke up the flight a bit (see previous post).
2) Hawaii is a nice place.
3) The Hawaiian Loco Moco (yummmmm).
4) Broke up the flight a bit.
6) Broke up the flight a bit.
It was also awesome because we got to meet our exchange family, the Fitzgeralds!

Here are five of the six Fitzgerald-Wismer kids. We were smart enough not to involve babies or adults in this picture as it had been a long day in the ocean and sun and a long night by the pool eating unhealthy snacks. Ulrika and I ended up carrying all three kids the last 1km home that night... that is love (and as rowers we thought it ridiculous to get a cab when we could simply carry our family home). We LOVED meeting the Fitzgeralds and spending time with them solidified that this exchange was a great idea. Brentwood will be lucky to have them!
While in Hawaii we ate, swam, ate, walked, ate, went to the zoo and even ran into hung out with some people we know from Mill Bay, BC (total fluke). Below are some highlights.

Unfortunately, on the way out of Hawaii, Jetstar's computer system was down "globally" so we had a 3 hr delay in departing. Luckily there were other kids around for entertainment and that Burger King was open for breakfast at 5am (Have you ever eaten deep fried french toast strips? I suggest you don't.). For a moment I saw a hint of William Lyon Mackenzie in Cormac's eyes. Crisis was averted with the boarding of the plane and an iPad with a golf game on it.
