Shem and Fiona, I promise, no damage will come of our backyard cricketing...
It seems like being in Australia is really becoming a part of daily life. I've started randomly shortening words for no apparent reason (this seems to be a hobby for the Aussies). We have a constant craving to go spend time on the beach. It is hot and we aren't melting (37 degrees today - and no, we don't have air conditioning). And Cormac (and the rest of the family) have been both watching watching (Australia vs. India test mentioned in a previous post as well as 20 over pro-cricket) and playing cricket (mostly backyard cricket, but we went over to the bowling cages the other day and played a bit as well). Shem and Fiona, I promise, no damage will come of our backyard cricketing... We also had a visitor yesterday. While out watering a neighbours plants, Cormac and I spotted a kangaroo (well, we have later discovered, a wallaby, which is actually just a small kangaroo with a different name)! This was met with a great deal of excitement by all. Impressively, Cormac snuck home and got mommy without causing Wally to run off. Mommy grabbed the camera and snapped this picture before he bounded off (which was even more exciting for Cormac). According to the Fitzgeralds, they never get wallabies on campus. We figure they heard there was a Canadian family around and came over to impress us. It was literally 30 meters from our front door. Pretty darned cool. We have also purchased Stella her first bike (that isn't a hand me down). She is pumped about pink these days, as you can probably tell from the image below. She's pretty darned cute.

Man, I love how you and Rick are on top of the genealogy work. You do the grunt work and we get to share in the spoils.

Great to see the bikes in action and also the princess dresses - we can't tell you how often those dresses appear in our family album! Great to see the cricket set getting a work out - we will be more impressed when you enrol Cormac in Aussie Rules - AusKick Program!

Awww, the bike and princess dress are adorable - exactly what our girls would wear! :) I miss wallabies. They were as common as deer in Canada around Pittwater, a little hostel outside Sydney where I stayed and worked for a couple weeks. We could sit on the porch in evenings and watch them hop around the grass. :)

The kangaroos are certainly in high demand from our children... we've going to go to a couple nature parks in the next few weeks and see a plethora of Aussie animals. I'm fairly sure Cormac's (and Ulrika's) head may explode with glee. Say hi to the family for us! Hope the upcoming (I think it's still upcoming - not yet done) move goes well.
